Why did I choose to be a translator?

I have always been fond of books, since I first learned to read and discovered letters, words, sentences and paragraphs. I have been a keen reader since my childhood.

Later, I became interested in writing. Work-related reasons made my family move twice, during my child and teenage years. This led me to write lots of letters to the dear ones left behind. Even later in my life, I decided to write poems during my adolescence, reflections in my adulthood, and stories for kids when I became a mom.

I became a full-time translator in 2001. Throughout my career, I have had the chance to translate several books, mostly Christian books, books addressed to kids and self-help books. Between these projects, I have also been doing any type of translations for different clients. 

Which are my areas of specialization?

I specialize in:

Literary Translation: Being assigned a book for translation, doing some research about the author, examining the structure of the book and enjoying its reading while translating is something I am really passionate about. I have translated/edited around 30 books. You can see some of them listed in the "Portfolio" section.

Legal Translation: I am registered in the Sworn Translators Association of Cordoba, Argentina. I have translated many public documents for particular clients. They include personal documents (passports, birth certificates, marriage certificates), academic documents (school transcripts, diplomas) and notarial files (deeds, powers of attorney, certificates of incorporation for foundations or partnerships).

Medical Translation: I have worked for several translation agencies, translating texts in the field of health care and medicine. I have translated/edited brochures for patients, informed consents, information about health plans, medical records, etc.
